This position oversees all Guest Services functions for the Lake Superior Zoo including Admissions, Concessions, Special Events, Event Rentals, and Tiger’s Paw Gift Shop. These Guest Service Centers and their staff are the main contact point for the zoo visitors and staff seeking zoo related information, customer service, and general assistance.
Principal Function: Develops, directs, and maintains a guest services program that focuses on correcting and improving visitor needs/concerns. Defines avenues of communication between guest and zoo staff. Inspects the zoo through the eyes of the visitor and ensures that any irregularities are reported for correction. Identifies visitor expectations and implements changes that meet or exceed those expectations. The Director of Guest Services, plans, organizes and manages the retail operation for both Food Service and Merchandising divisions.
The Director of Guest Services must believe in and support the Lake Superior Zoological Society’s mission and organizational culture, must be a valuable and contributing member of the zoo team. This position is part of the senior management team.
