The Animal Care Manager (ACM) is responsible for all aspects of the safe care and handling of an assigned animal collection. Qualified applicants must have supervisory and communication skills to facilitate effective training and performance of staff. Applicants must have experience managing a diverse primate collection and associated facilities. Primate experience across all taxa (Apes, Old World Monkeys, New World Monkeys, Prosimians) is highly desirable. A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Zoology, Biology or related field is required. Excellent communication, interpersonal and report writing skills are essential. Computer experience with word processing and spreadsheet systems is desirable. Selected candidate must be able to create and monitor budgets, understand union contracts regarding labor use restrictions, work effectively with others and be available for travel (domestic and internationally). This position requires the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and to perform heavy physical labor when necessary.
