Water Quality Systems Manager
Riverbanks Zoo and Garden located in Columbia, SC is currently searching for an energetic and innovative Water Quality Systems Manager. This newly created position with Riverbanks Zoo and Garden is responsible for all aspects of animal exhibit water quality and public water feature systems and maintenance including design and construction of water quality support systems for new exhibits. This position works closely with the curatorial and maintenance staff to complete critical tasks related to the preventative maintenance of WQS and to ensure that water quality parameters and SOP’s are adhered to. Ensures all public water features meet or exceed state DHEC water quality requirements when attractions/exhibits are open to the public. This position will plan and coordinate a variety of services, activities, operations, and maintenance of the WQS for marine mammal exhibit(s). The WQS Manager reports to the Director of Risk Management and Facilities for Riverbanks Zoo.
Qualified candidates will have a BS degree in marine science, biology, zoology, chemistry, mechanical engineering or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of experience in an aquarium or biological park setting with extensive aquatic life support systems is highly desired. A minimum of 2 years supervisory experience with at least 1 year of practical lab experience operating water quality analytical equipment is required.
