Applications are being accepted for a full-time Program Animal Keeper in the zoo’s Education Department. This position is responsible for the daily husbandry of the zoo’s Program Animals, including parrots, snakes, lizards, amphibians, owls, hedgehogs, guinea pigs, and rabbits. The Program Animal Keeper also presents animal-themed programs on zoo grounds to children and adults. Applicants must be detailed oriented, willing to perform physical labor, and possess a strong team work ethic. Proficiency in operant conditioning, program delivery, and animal care experience with a variety of species is preferred. Good communication and organizational skills are a must. This is a full-time position requiring availability for a 40-hour work week year-round (including weekends and holidays).
