Full time position, 40 hours a week, receiving supervision from Curator. Qualifications: Requires 4 year degree in biology or related subject with demonstrated experience working with animals. An ability to follow established daily work routines and good organizational and time management skills. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Looking for a team player capable of positive interaction with co-workers, volunteers and guests. Must be able to work weekends and holidays and some evenings. Must be able to work in all climatic conditions. Responsibilities: Day to day care of animals (feeding, cleaning, enrichment, exhibit maintenance), present tours and keeper chats, observe and report animal behavior and physiological changes to supervisor. Enforce zoo rules and answer questions from the public. Administer medication under supervision of vet and/or Curator. Assist with capture and restraint of animals. Report necessary major repairs. Checks and maintains equipment used in work. Completes written daily reports and records.
