The Audubon's Zoo Hoofstock Department is accepting applications for winter/spring zookeeper internship program. Internships run a minimum of 12 weeks and are unpaid. This internship will provide practical hands on expertise for those interested in the zookeeping field. Interns will work alongside the Hoofstock staff learning animal care, exhibit upkeep, enrichment, record keeping, assisting with veterinary procedures, and public presentations.

Open to people 18 years and up, who can work a minumum of 3 days a week for a minimum of 12 weeks. Schedules are flexible and more hours may be available if desired. Some of the animals in our section include giraffes, white rhinos, zebras, and several species of ungulates, including some canids. Applicants must be willing to work in any weather, lift 75 lbs., and will need a current TB test.
