The Director of Guest Experience programs is responsible for leading public programming in the Aquarium, including all fee-based Aquarium Adventures.

Essential Functions

•Design, develop, implement and evaluate public and fee-based programs

•Determine the best mix of innovative, fun, conservation-driven programming for visitors

•Coordinate with other Guest Experience managers and Aquarium staff to ensure programs and operations meet the high standards of the Aquarium

•Manage paid and unpaid public programs staff

•Train new public and fee-based programs staff and maintain an on-going coaching model

•Oversee weekly/monthly program and staff scheduling

•Deliver public programs as needed

Required Knowledge/Experience

•Bachelor's degree in natural science, business administration or education preferred; Master's degree is highly desirable

•Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver programming to a diverse audience

•Strong interpersonal and leadership skills; demonstrated ability to supervise and work with a variety of professionals, interns and volunteers of various ages

•Four or more years' experience in managing programming in an informal learning environment (aquarium, zoo, museum or major attraction)

•Excellent written and oral communication skills

•Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple, diverse tasks simultaneously

•Bilingual in Spanish and English is highly desirable

•Experience with theater and/or public speaking is desirable

•Familiarity with MS Office suite of programs is desirable
