The Great Plains Zoo is looking for a self-motivated team player to join our veterinary department as a veterinary technician/registrar. You must have experience working as a veterinary technician, and having worked in a zoo hospital environment is preferred.

In this position, you will be responsible for managing hospital supplies and inventories, managing animal records and databases, ensuring quality care for hospitalized patients and quarantined animals, as well as working closely with the veterinarian to perform those duties associated with both long and short term patient care both in the hospital and out in the park. The successful applicant will be someone organized, efficient, and excited by growth and challenges.

The 45-acre Great Plains Zoo is a dynamic, growing organization that has experienced stable, yet impressive growth over the last seven years, doubling its attendance to more than 251,000 guests/year and doubling its animal collection to over 1,000 animals, including large cats (tigers, snow leopards, cheetah), giraffes, black rhino, bongo, a variety of primates (siamang, Japanese macaques, lemurs), penguins, rare waterfowl, flamingo, and other high-profile animals.
