Summary:

This position advances Denver Zoo’s mission and goals by providing technical assistance and support for software and hardware for zoo staff. In addition, this position will assist the Network Operations Manager with server configurations and installations. The work schedule for this position is Tuesday-Saturday.

Essential Functions:

•Manages help desk line, and fixes or reports problems to Network Operations Manager in a timely fashion.

•Creates images for desktop computers and manages the deployment of new workstations.

•Creates/updates system documentation on installation procedures and system configurations.

•Provides technical support to employees regarding software, hardware, peripherals, and network access.

•Upgrades, installs and configures software and hardware on all desktop computers.

•Troubleshoots hardware problems by diagnosing conflicting hardware and failed parts. Installs upgrades on existing hardware components.

•Configures users’ accounts in Windows 2008 active directory as needed.

•Is familiar with current spreadsheets, word processors and data base programs.

•Completes tasks in a timely manner.

•Provides network operations support by being cross-trained in the areas of networking and backups in order to ensure continuity of service.

Additional Responsibilities:

•Ability to work weekends and evenings.

•Sets up, operates and maintains all audio visual equipment used for live presentations, such as microphones, projectors and sound mixing equipment.

•Performs various tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

•At least two years of work experience in a similar position.

•Strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills.

•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems or Computer Science (Preferred).

•Proficiency in both oral and written communication skills.

•Creative and innovative thinking.

•Self-motivated and able to work independently or with a team.
