ASSISTANT CURATOR OF FISHES: Responsible for assisting with the overall operation and maintenance of the fish/aquatic invertebrate exhibits and management of the aquarist staff including scheduling, assigning work, monitoring exhibit quality and animal health. Coordinates and participates in the acquisition of fishes and invertebrates and ensures the daily readiness of appropriate exhibits. The qualified applicant also recruits, hires and schedules interns and volunteers for the aquarist and lab sections of the Aquarium. This position is a working position at times covering for aquarists. The successful candidate will work some weekends and holidays.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor of Science in aquatic sciences preferred, five years previous experience in fish husbandry and exhibitry in a public aquarium, the ability to work independently and also oversee the daily work of others ensuring excellent presentation of Aquarium exhibits. Position also requires excellent communication, time management and coordination skills; expertise as an aquarist; competency in the management of closed system aquaria, and both the initiative and ability to accept challenge as opportunity. Proven leadership and supervision experience preferred.
