The Cleveland Zoological Society seeks a highly energetic, entrepreneurial and persuasive development professional with a track record of cultivating and stewarding donor relationships. Under the guidance of the Executive Director and as an active member of the development team, the Donor Relations Officer will solicit and steward a portfolio of prospects with the ability to make significant gifts. Applicants must have at least 4-5 years’ experience in a comparable role and knowledge of solicitation strategies for foundations, corporations and individuals. The successful candidate will possess strong verbal and written communication skills. Must be enthusiastic, goal-oriented, effective at matching donors with gift opportunities, able to work independently and to help devise creative solutions in a collaborative manner.

• Bachelor’s degree required

• Minimum 3 years of progressively responsible experience in a position with a similar level of responsibility; demonstrated ability to secure gifts

• Excellent oral, written, organizational and interpersonal skills

• Experienced with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat; Raiser’s Edge highly preferred

Salary Range: $42,000 to $55,000 based on experience
