The Great Plains Zoo is seeking a Veterinary Technician/Registrar for the Animal Care Department.

The veterinary technician/registrar position is a multi-faceted role which encompasses different sides of the Animal Care Department. As a technician, the person is under the direct guidance and supervision of the veterinarian and is required to assist the veterinarian to the fullest possible extent, to help improve the quality of care given to the animals of the Great Plains Zoo and to aid the vet in achieving greater efficiency by relieving them of technical work and administrative detail. As a registrar, this person will manage animal record databases and ensure the maintenance and quality of animal records for use in the management and development of animal care programs. Additionally, this position will also have duties pertaining to permits, coordinating animal transactions, and taking care of quarantined animals and facilities. The veterinary technician/registrar reports directly to the Veterinarian, with a dotted line relationship to the Director of Animal Programs.
