The Phoenix Zoo is currently seeking a full time Family Programs Coordinator. This person will design, coordinate, assist with and facilitate high quality nature-based family programs experiences including Early Childhood Breakfasts, Sunrise Safaris, Farm Tots, Homeschool, Lunch with a Keeper, and Critter Keeper. He or she is responsible for efficient and effective logistical operations of programs for children 18 months to 11 years and their families, and will coordinate all aspects of program development, confirm program setup, and communicate program needs to other departments (food services, living collections, custodial, train, reservations and operations) to ensure program runs smoothly. This person is also actively involved with Camp Zoo and Winter Camp.

Minimum requirements for this position include a Bachelor’s degree in biology/environmental science, environmental education, or early childhood and /or elementary education, at least 1 year experience coordinating informal group experiences, experience working with preschool and elementary age children, knowledge of child development, and ability to work flexible hours as weekend work will be required. The ideal candidate will have strong organization skills and computer skills, be a creative, energetic, and enthusiastic individual, and be bi-lingual English-Spanish. All Phoenix Zoo employees are required to pass pre-employment background checks including a drug test, this position also requires annual TB testing, a valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a fingerprint clearance card.
