Join this fast-paced department and take part in all aspects of volunteer management. Help recruit, select, train, motivate, and supervise our great group of nearly 600 individuals between the ages of 14 and 95. You will gain administrative and organizational skills, learn about non-profit management, and have fun, too!
Beyond the care of the animals that call the Zoo home, there are opportunities to work behind the scenes to support the Indianapolis Zoo and its overall mission. Administrative interns can work alongside professionals in a variety of areas, including fundraising, communications, marketing, education and human resources, to gain valuable knowledge about the day-to-day operations of zoos and other nonprofit organizations. These internships offer opportunities to develop skills in the areas of planning and organization, written and verbal communications, and other administrative skills
