Part-time Life Support Technician

The Oklahoma City Zoo is looking for an enthusiastic team oriented individual to join the Life Support team. Primary responsibilities, under the direct supervision of the Life Support Supervisor and other area staff, will include assisting the team with daily departmental tasks such as water quality testing and the upkeep of associated logs and records. Additional tasks will include the operation of water filtration systems and assisting in the installation, maintenance and repair of pumps, chillers, sand filters, UV sterilizers, automated control systems, and ozone generators. On the job training for the chosen candidate will be provided. Must have the ability to multitask, possess strong written and verbal communication skills, demonstrate self-motivation and critical thinking skills, display a positive attitude and be comfortable working with numerous teams in a fast-paced environment. SCUBA certification and knowledge of filtration systems is preferred, as is prior experience in an aquarium or water management facility. Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds and work weekends and holidays as scheduled. This position is 29 hours per week.
