The Central Oklahoma Humane Society exists to enrich the communities it serves by promoting the wellbeing of animals.  Further, OK Humane will make the compassionate and respectful treatment of animals a prevalent community value and the wellbeing of animals a community priority. Founded in 2007, OK Humane works in close partnership with the Oklahoma City Animal Welfare Division.  Since the opening of the Center in 2007, more than 11,000 homes were found as well as more than 50,000 spay/neuter procedures were performed.    

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the President is responsible for the oversight of OK Humane to include administration of all programs and services of the organization. The President is responsible for the overall administration of the organization, managing and developing a talented staff of 29, partnering with a board of 18 members and overseeing a $2 million budget.

We are seeking a highly experienced leader and manager whose vision and passion for the humane and ethical treatment of animals is demonstrated in a long, successful track record of strong innovative and inclusive leadership that will facilitate open communication to harmonize staff, the Board and the other constituencies with whom she/he will interface. Demonstrated accomplishments in fundraising and financial management are required. This person will have either reported directly to a Board of Directors or have worked closely with one. The ideal candidate will bring strong and successful leadership of a humane/animal control or other nonprofit organization.    

An undergraduate degree is strongly preferred. Minimum of seven years of management and supervisory experience required. Evidence of a passionate commitment to the proper care of all animals is strongly needed. Professional education in such areas as business management, marketing, non-profit or association management, fundraising and administration is also desired.  CAWA credential is helpful.
