Essential Job Functions:Provide technical support to employees: Identify and resolve technical problems, respond to telephone calls, e-mails and other related employee requests for technical support. Troubleshoot and problem solve hardware and software conflicts. Assist in Network maintenance, set-up the implementation of company wide computers, smart phones and software systems. Act as a liaison between Zoo New England employees and external hardware and software vendors. Facilitate computer training for ZNE employees on company authorized software. Attending inter-departmental company meetings to facilitate these essential job functions is required. It is important that pre-established protocols for facilitating the essential job functions for this position be adhered to. It is also important due to the change in technology and technology protocols to be able to work in a changing fast-pace environment while re-establishing protocols periodically under the instructions of the Director of Information Services. The Help Desk Technician is responsible for providing services at both Zoos.

Duties & Responsibilities

•Provide technical support to Zoo New England employees.

•Purchase company authorized hardware and software.

•Troubleshoot problems as they relate to technical, software and hardware issues.

•Assist with Network maintenance, which includes but is not limited to, purchasing hardware and software, the installation of hardware and software, back-up and restoration of Network files.

•Database building for inter-departmental and company use.

•Act as primary contact person with external vendors.

•As needed, facilitate, oversee and provide software and hardware training to employees.

•Provide the Director of Information Services with projects and progress reports as requested.

•Provide feedback to the Director of Information Services that would result in better service, cost savings, and overall departmental and company wide efficiency.

Minimum Job Requirements

•Associate Degree in related field.

•Two years of hands-on experience in a related field.

•Ability to communicate well in written and oral English.

•Previous experience providing computer training.

•Proficiency in MS Office Suite and other business software programs.

•Multi-task abilities.

•Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Preferred Job Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Technology.

•Three years of hands-on experience in a related field.

•Two years experience providing computer training.

•Ability to communicate well in written and oral English.

•Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other business software programs.

•Bi-lingual ability a plus.

•Multi-task abilities.
