The Role

This exciting and challenging role is being offered to head up the displays development function covering the European SEA LIFE network. There are 32 SEA LIFE centres in 10 different countries within the EU with more to come. The successful applicant will work across all the sites, with a dedicated multi cultural team, and will report to the Displays Development Director, based in Weymouth U.K.

Confident and dynamic, you will ensure that results are delivered to inspire the exceptional teams on site. Driving innovative new displays, whilst ensuring existing displays are world class. The role requires a thorough understanding of technical issues ranging from animal husbandry to LSS (Life Support Systems). An ability to bring the necessary elements to deliver stunning displays. Conservation is at the heart of the brand and represented by Breed, Rescue and Protect initiatives. You will have a clear ability to underpin and increase these activities within the group. Excellent people skills and a creative passion for aquatic displays are fundamental. The role will also include the ability to drive innovation around new creatures and displays, managing the process throughout, from initial concept through to public display.

The position will be based in Weymouth, UK. The geographic spread of the attractions means you must be prepared for considerable travel throughout Europe and occasionally further afield.

The Person

A highly effective leader, you will be working with the local teams to unlock the immense talent within the group. In this role you will need to be extremely adaptable. Clear communication is key as you will be working with a large number of people in different countries. You will be self motivated and passionate about driving excellence through the operating and new SEA LIFE sites in the region. You will have worked in the Aquarium industry at a managerial level for a considerable period of time. The ability to problem solve and find imaginative solutions will be key to success in this role.
