Audubon Zoo in New Orleans is seeking applicants for internships in the Bird Department for summer and fall of 2013. Internships are unpaid positions and require at least 24 hours a week for a minimum of 12 weeks. Most interns work at least 32 hours a week. Interns will gain valuable experience while working with keeper staff to learn aspects of animal care such as animal husbandry, exhibit maintenance, enrichment, and public presentations. Interns are expected to work in all types of weather and must be able to lift, bend, and stoop. Applicants must also have current proof of a negative TB test. Start and end dates are flexible.
