The Living Desert is currently accepting applications for the position of Animal Registrar. This position reports to the Curator of Animals and manages the Living Desert’s animal records, permits, and institutional documents related to managing the animal collection; assists with managing acquisition and disposition of collection animals and veterinary medical records, preparing documents, maintaining Animal Department computer software systems, and other clerical support duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate should be a motivated self-starter, literate in ZIMS, ARKS, MedARKS, SPARKS, MS Access, Excel, and Word. This position functions in a typical office environment with general office and computer tasks, with occasional holiday or weekend work. Prefer college degree in business, library science, or biology. Will substitute training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Completion of IRK course a plus. Must be energetic with good communication skills, be willing to work with others in a team setting and hold a valid California driver license/eligibility and be insurable on The Living Desert’s automobile insurance policy.
