New Mexico BioPark Society (NMBPS), the non-profit support organization for the ABQ BioPark-Zoo, Aquarium, Botanic Garden, and Tingley Beach, seeks a motivated, high-energy, people-focused “Membership Services Coordinator”.
•This full-time, non-exempt position plays a key role in the organization, responsible for administering the daily functions of the membership office at the front of the zoo serving over 18,000 member households; duties include: membership cultivation and retention through creative marketing strategies, professional sales techniques and an understanding of Customer Service at the highest level, greeting all members and potential members and providing: friendly customer relations; detailed information to assist in choosing the correct membership and donation levels for their goals in supporting the Society and BioPark; implementation of membership data input; sales and promotions; volunteer, member & public relations. Hires, trains and manages Membership Services Associates, Front gate Sales Representatives and volunteers.
Minimum Qualifications:
•Must have 4-5 years of professional work experience and at least 3 years customer service, sales or marketing. College degree or commensurate experience a plus.
•Demonstrates attention to detail and ability to multi-task. Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•Money handling and opening/closing cashier skills.
•Proficient computer skills; knowledgeable with Word, Excel and Data Base entry and management. Familiarity with Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge software a plus.
•Exceptional people skills. Ability to enthusiastically greet customers with a smile and maintain a pleasant, outgoing and friendly attitude at all times. Willing to ask questions to determine needs and support goals.
•Manage lines and multiple customers during busy times in a fast paced environment.
•Must be available to work weekends, holidays and some evenings as needed.
•Have no fear handling escalated issues with a willingness to find a solution.
•Ability to work as a team with both Society and BioPark personnel.
•Develop and implement programs, projects and activities designed to increase and retain membership.
