Time Commitment 12 Weeks : Works 5 days per week (40 hrs) including weekends and holidays.
Summary of Positions
Interns will assist Keeper Staff in daily husbandry, behavioral observation, enrichment, and enclosure maintenance of our domestic fields. Interns will learn about colony management as well as natural and assisted reproductive techniques. Opportunities may arise for interns to observe veterinary and reproductive procedures as performed by our science staff. This is an unpaid internship, however housing is available at no charge.
Requirements
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Minimum of three months previous experience working or volunteering at zoological facility, veterinary hospital, animal shelter or pet store.
Proof of recent negative TB test.
Ability to follow written and oral instructions and strict protocols.
Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, bend and stoop.
Must be able to work weekends and holidays as assigned.
Must commit to a schedule of 40hrs a week for a minimum of 12 weeks
