The National Aquarium is looking for an Assistant Curator to assist with the management of the living collections of The National Aquarium's Baltimore location including the exhibits, life support systems, associated programs and associated gallery aquarists. This position coordinates and supervises animal handling, diet preparation and illness and injury observation, record keeping and back up area maintenance, including the Shark Holding area. Response to and remedying emergency animal and water quality situations are also essential functions of this position.

Requirements of this position include a Bachelor's degree in a biological or aquatic science or related field or equivalent experience, a minimum of 5 years Aquarist experience and 2 years of supervisory responsibilities. Other requirements include SCUBA certification with extensive diving experience, effective communication skills, experience participating in major exhibit changes and field experience in the successful capture, transport and acclimation of fishes and invertebrates. A valid driver's license and flexibility after work hours is necessary.
