Summer Animal Care Intern - Birds/Quarantine

Duties: Intern responsibilities include, but are not limited to the daily husbandry of bird exhibits and quarantine areas; preparing diets and feeding, cleaning and maintaining exhibits and quarantine areas, assisting during veterinary visits, updating records, participating in daily observations and enrichment of Animal Ambassadors, as well as species on exhibit and in quarantine.

Qualifications: Prefer someone seeking a career in biology, sciences, or education. Candidates must have a minimum 2.0 GPA, be available for a minimum of 20 hours a week for 10 weeks and should be able to tolerate working in cold or hot environments as well as inclement weather conditions. Hours are 7 a.m.-4 p.m. or 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and may include weekends and holidays.

Requirements: Applicant must maintain a daily journal and meet regularly with the Bird Department Intern Coordinator.
