SALARY: $10.88 per hour

HOURS: Seasonal position. 24 to 40 hours per week, to include weekends and holidays. Hours and days per week may vary. Position requires less than 1200 hours per year. LOCATION: Northwest Trek Wildlife Park, Eatonville

CLASSIFICATION: This position is classified as a part-time/seasonal position and is not eligible for health benefits or paid leave. Enrollment in the WA state retirement system may be mandatory. This position is an at-will position with no written or implied contractual agreement.


This position is responsible for interpreting Northwest native animals and plants to the visiting public in an entertaining and informative manner (training will be provided). Duties include transporting the public safely though the free-roaming area animal exhibit by driving a three car, ninety passenger tram on a 5 mile asphalt road; staffing and interpreting Cheney Discovery Center and core area exhibits, activities and programs; and inspecting and routine cleaning of the trams and facilities. Other duties as required.


 Education in the natural sciences, education, theater or related field or equivalent experience required.

 Must have excellent communication skills.

 Must have the desire to work with large groups of children and adults.

 Must be customer service oriented.

 Must have a positive, cheerful and professional attitude.

 Valid driver's license, with good driving record, required.


 Employment is subject to a Washington State Patrol background inquiry pursuant to RCW 43.43.832

Sitting for extended periods of time; lifting and carrying boxes as needed; walking throughout the park; reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally to clean the tram; bending, kneeling or crouching to clean the tram; dexterity of hands and fingers to operate controls of the tram.
