Salary: $19.38 - $25.90 Hourly

One part-time position, 20 hours/week. Benefits will be prorated to reflect the part-time status of this position.

The Behind the Scenes Tour Specialist will be responsible for developing and leading educational tours of areas behind the scenes at the Oregon Zoo. These informative and engaging tours will serve to educate the participants on animal care, welfare and conservation, and strengthen the connection between the public, the Oregon Zoo and our animal collection.

The person in this position will be creating and leading tours for visitors of a wide variety of ages and interests, and will work collaboratively with zoo staff to provide meaningful content, provide efficient tour scheduling and logistics, and develop safety protocols.

Minimum Requirements:

Associates degree in field related to program area and two years experience, or high school diploma and four years of experience in a field related to the position; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred: teaching experience and a working knowledge of zoo animal care.
