Life Support Specialist Reporting Relationship:
Tenji principals Position Summary:
The Life Support Specialist will assist Tenji Principals in life support design, creating accurate bid documents, ordering equipment, field installation, start-up and commissioning of life support systems, offsite and on-site fabrication of LSS and service area elements. Daily duties will vary depending on current work-load. Essential Functions:
Aid in Life Support System (LSS) design and engineering for aquatic exhibits ranging from
500 to 100,000 gallons.
Assist Principals in pricing and bidding on projects
Provide on-site project management during fabrication and construction phases.
Assist in ordering and tracking equipment orders for timely delivery
Ability to work in a team
Ability to be self directed with minimal supervision.
Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 40kg (88 lbs.).
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Must possess a valid drives license and be able to operate vehicles (including but not limited to forklifts, cars, trucks)
Flexibility with on-call, night, weekend and holiday shifts. Travel outside of home state required. Required Knowledge/Experience:
Bachelors degree in engineering or related field
3 years experience in the public aquarium industry
Proficient in reviewing and understanding construction drawings in plan, elevation, isometric and schematic formats.
Demonstrated experience in installing and maintaining large scale pumps, sand filters, heat exchangers and other aquarium specific life support components
Proficient in communicating through email.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
