Bird & Mammal Internship

Organization: Seattle Aquarium (AZA Member)
Location: Seattle, WA, United States
Job or Internship: Internship

The Seattle Aquarium internship program is designed for those with a strong desire to move into the Zoo/Aquarium field as a career path. Our internship is an in-depth program requiring a minimum commitment of 400 hours (maximum of 500 hours) in at least 10 weeks but no more than 13 weeks (32-40 hours per week). Interns must be flexible with their schedule, and will be expected to work weekdays, weekends and holidays. This is an unpaid position and while we may be able to help you in your housing search, there is no housing provided.

Requests for internship positions are evaluated based on experience (professional and/or volunteer), academic achievement, interview success, willingness and ability to make a commitment to the program and positions available. By successfully completing this internship, students demonstrate responsibility, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Life science internships will be heavily concentrated in animal husbandry and will have an exhibit interpretation component.
