The Oklahoma City Zoological Park is looking for a knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and motivated individual who will, under general supervision, oversee and work alongside department staff to manage the daily operations of the Service Center in the purchasing, receiving, warehousing, and distribution of centrally ordered operating supplies, uniforms and other items as needed for the Zoo. This position will lead and motivate department staff in a team atmosphere. The ideal candidate must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Zoo staff at all levels, vendors, and suppliers and have excellent communication and organizational skills. This individual also must possess skills in customer service, computers, inventory and records management, and have the ability to lift fifty (50) pounds. An expectation to continue to seek and acquire education/knowledge in the field is necessary.
Requirements: Experience equivalent to three years full time work in warehousing and purchasing or closely related work. Must possess a valid Oklahoma motor vehicle operator’s license and pass a driver’s history check to operate Zoo vehicles. Must possess a valid forklift operator’s license. Preference given to applicants with previous lead worker/supervisory experience.
