SUMMARY STATEMENT: The Content Coordinator of the Hall of Human Life (HHL) will be responsible for staying abreast of current science news and publications related to human biology, evolution, and health medical biotechnologies. The position requires the candidate to be able to connect headline news to relevant and reliable primary sources. S/He will serve as a liaison to scientific advisors and institutions both locally and nationally and will be pivotal in identifying new scientific organization/institution collaborations. S/He will also work closely with the Program Coordinator to educate, inform, and motivate both part-time staff and volunteers. The successful candidate will have a passion for learning and teaching about topics in HHL and assist in the supervision and education of part-time staff and volunteers. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Oversees HHL briefings three days of the week, including one weekend day, maintenance and volunteer training on those days, a total of 156 briefings annually. • Assist the Program Coordinator e with the interview, hiring, supervision, schedule, and training of approximately ten part-time staff, and 80+ HHL volunteers in order to create a friendly professional team environment. In addition, with the Program Coordinator, conduct a monthly observational review to ensure that all part-time staff and volunteers are able to successfully speak on topics related to the HHL exhibit. • Manage a database of 60+ institution/department heads and additional outside scientific advisors, approved by the HHL manager. WORK SCHEDULE: This position is full-time, 40 hours/week, Sunday - Thursday REPORTS TO: Manager, Hall of Human Life MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelors of Science or Arts preferred. • More than 3 years biology experience. STARTING SALARY: Exempt (Salaried). Commensurate with experience.
