Join an enthusiastic team that provides a fun, unique and inspirational experience fostering appreciation, knowledge, and care for the natural world.DESCRIPTION:This position provides data to the Houston Zoo’s Membership department, fulfillment of membership applications, database coding and cleanup on an ongoing basis. This position will also assist with selling memberships when needed.RESPONSIBILITIES:• Provide data entry support for the Houston Zoo• Timely and accurate recording of all membership applications received at the Zoo through lockbox, mail, web, and onsite sales• Daily reconciling of data entry of these items• Printing, stuffing, and posting of membership cards• Provide data entry support for all appeals, mailings, and database cleanup on an ongoing basis• Occasionally assist with selling memberships in an outdoor environment• Assist with all membership events• Other duties as assigned.Staff will be required to work weekends, holidays, some evenings, rotating schedules and beyond scheduled work hours. Staff may also provide crowd control if necessary during peak times. SUPERVISION: Membership Data Entry Representatives report directly to the Director of Membership. JOB REQUIREMENTS:EXPERIENCE:Excellent typing and computer skills required. Related experience preferred; knowledge of fundraising software Raiser’s Edge a plus.Must be a self-starter and capable of following directions and working independently and with great detail. Must be able to maintain and achieve a weekly goal. Exercises good judgment and discretion in dealing with all types of confidential informationKNOWLEDGE:High school diploma or equivalent required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel required.SKILLS:WORK ENVIRONMENT:The work environment is generally comfortable but requires sitting or standing for long periods.
