Wildlife Programs Presenter/Trainer

Duties: Responsible for daily care, observation, and training of The Living Desert’s program animal collection, presentation of amphitheater shows, encounters, and educational programs both on and off site, some aspects of exhibit and facility maintenance, communicating effectively both verbally and in writing, working effectively within a team environment and courteously and effectively interacting with TLD visitors. May be required to supervise volunteers.

Qualifications: AAS or higher degree in biology or related field and at least six months of experience in operant conditioning/program presentation desired. Comparable training and experience may be accepted. Applicant must be able to acquire a CA driver’s license and be insurable on TLD’s auto policy. Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds, be able to work holidays and weekends, and work outdoors in a very hot desert environment. This position is 40 hours per week reports under the area Animal Care Manager.
