We value your perspective. PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: The staff and volunteers of Cahners ComputerPlace help visitors explore the topics of computer science, robotics and communication technology. The exhibit space features several robot exhibits, an informal presentation area, and virtual human guides. POSITION SUMMARY: The Program Presenter will be responsible for supervising ComputerPlace, and for supervising, training, and mentoring ComputerPlace's volunteers and interns during that time. The Program Presenter will also lead hands-on activities and demonstrations for visitors. *Supervise ComputerPlace during the shift. *Supervise, train and mentor volunteers and interns. *Lead hands-on activities and demonstrations for visitors. *Assist in the daily operational upkeep of the exhibit space and exhibit elements including light tech support, cleaning, and maintenance. *Assist in the development of new educational components for exhibits and activities within the space. WORK SCHEDULE: These positions are part-time, 7 hours a week. Should you choose to apply, please indicate your preferred shift.Available Shifts:Mondays 9:00am-5:00pmFridays 9:00am-5:00pmDuring the summer and school vacation weeks, the hours will change to 11:00-7:00.QUALIFICATIONS SUMMARY: • Interest in and enthusiasm for educating the public. • Computer science and technology skills a plus. • Strong public speaking and interpersonal skills. • Enjoys working in an active environment. • Accepts the challenge of educating a diverse audience. STARTING SALARY: Non-Exempt (Hourly). Commensurate with experience.
