Job Description: This internship will expose applicant to experience in caring for and working with exotic animals. Transportation and housing is NOT provided. This is a non-paid position.QualificationsA willingness to handle all types of vertebrate and invertebrate animals is essential. Previous experience working with animals preferred. The Zoo will provide on-the-job training. The internship is open to applicants who either are currently pursuing or have a background in biology, animal science or related field. RequirementsA commitment of at least three months is required, with a minimum of two days per week totaling no less than eight hours a week. DutiesThe intern will be responsible for the general care of the zoo’s education animal collection (diet preparation, feeding and husbandry). The intern will also be offered the opportunity to shadow instructors.
