Are you ready to experience something exciting, something out of the ordinary? An internship at the Houston Zoo provides a once in a lifetime learning experience for students who are looking for a challenge.

The Houston Zoo provides unpaid internship opportunities for students who wish to obtain hands-on experience in a functional area of the Zoo. Internships are available in most animal sections, as well as, horticulture, education, marketing, data management, conservation and other areas as needed.

To be considered, candidates must submit an application along with a cover letter, recommendation letter and resume by the deadline of December 1, 2012. Candidates must also be currently enrolled in a college institution or a recent graduate within 6 months of application date. All applicants must be a current or recent student in a field related to the desired placement.

Once admitted into the program, interns must commit to a minimum of 200 hours of service depending on each Department. Specific hours may be scheduled to meet the needs of both the intern and the department. Other requirements include several Continuing Education classes and presentations.

The Houston Zoo provides unpaid internship opportunities for students who are interested in gaining experience in their field.

We are currently accepting applications until December 1st. Internships will begin January 15th and run to May 5th. Below is the web link for further details and to access the application:
