To provide exceptional customer service to Zoo guests in the areas of rides, ticket issuing, private rentals, locker rentals, stroller rentals, wheel chair access, and sales in exhibit areas as needed. As the primary point of contact between guests and the array of services offered by the Guest Relations Department, Guest Relations Associates are required to provide friendly and efficient customer services in all areas within the Guest Relations Department. Ensuring ZNE’s guests’ comfort and safety is also an important part of performing the job. This position is multi-functional across a broad spectrum of Guest Relations responsibilities including: Ticket Counter, Rides Operator and Budgie Exhibitor. The Guest Relations Associate has a high level of interactions with Zoo guests. This requires the Guest Relations Associates to inform Zoo guests of the following services offered: the cost of a variety of rides and rental services; answers general guest questions; handle special requests for guests such as limited wheel chair access; advise guests of cancellations due to weather conditions or other operating conditions; greet guests in a friendly manner, take tickets; administer and manage cash handling; handle guest requests and concerns promptly and with courtesy; knowledge of other Zoo operating areas; exhibit locations and other Zoo amenities are required. Completing other job related tasks and duties that management may deem necessary.
Requirements: Enrolled in / or a graduate of high school or an equivalent certificate program, with a minimum of 1 year of direct customer service experience. A valid driver’s license with a good driving record and be at least 18 years of age are requirements of the job. The ability to work weekdays, weekends and holidays are also required. Must be comfortable working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions is required Complete fluency in English is required. Preferred Job Requirements: Education beyond a high school diploma with a certificate in hospitality is a plus. A year plus of direct customer service experience. The ability to provide concierge-level of customer service to guests by exceeding their expectations is a key success factor of this position. Good time management skills and the ability to follow directions coupled with the ability to react quickly to changing priorities. A valid driver’s license with a good driving record and be at least 18 years of age are requirements of the job. The ability to work weekdays, weekends and holidays are also required. Must be comfortable working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions is required. Complete fluency in English is required. The ability to speak a second language is a plus.
