The City of Atascadero has an exciting career opportunity available at The Charles
Paddock Zoo. This Part time Zookeeper position will work under the limited supervision of the senior keeper. Duties will include all aspects of daily animal care, records keeping,
assisting staff and veterinarian with animal restraint, capture and medical treatment
of the animal collection. Must be available to work weekend and holidays.
Minimum qualifications. High school diploma, and paid experience in a zoo, wildlife park, or closely related facility preferred. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience to sufficiently demonstrate the knowledge and abilities necessary for satisfactory performance of the job may be considered. A college degree or classes in life sciences is encouraged as are basic computer skills.. The Charles Paddock Zoo is located in one of the most beautiful areas of the central California coast. The zoo is currently embarking on facility wide upgrades and a new collection plan.
