AZA Congressional Day

Join us on May 20th for an exciting day on Capitol Hill! Use the day to meet with your respective Congressional Representatives, Senators and their staff to acquaint them with your institution and secure their support for upcoming authorizations and appropriations. If they're not yet members of the Congressional Zoo and Aquarium Caucus (in PDF), urge them to join.

We'll be sending talking points and tips to all registrants help you prepare for your meetings.

That evening, plant to attend our extremely popular AZA Congressional Reception, open to Congressional members, staff and invited guests. Last year, we drew over 600 guests to this event which has quickly become one of the most-anticipated on Capitol Hill.

We have booked a small block of hotel rooms at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Silver Spring for the nights of May 19th and 20th. The room rates are $169.00 plus tax. Call (301)589-0800 to make your reservations.

Federal Partnerships

Partnerships with key federal agencies have been an important operational element for many of our AZA-accredited zoos and aquariums. Partnerships include the National Wildlife Refuge System, the Endangered Species Program, the National Marine Sanctuary Program, and the Natural Resources Laureate Program.
